Evers survived that Lake Jordan competition to advance to the next leg, the Evan Williams Bourbon All-Star Championship, Friday-Sunday on the Alabama River out of Montgomery, Ala.

The matchups for the head-to-head portion of the Toyota Trucks All-Star Series were set today as the 2-day seeding tournament wrapped up at Lake Jordan in Alabama. Casey Ashley led the way with a 25-08 total and, as the top seed, will take on Skeet Reese in the quarterfinals on Friday.Other quarterfinal pairings at the Alabama River will pit No. 2 Ott DeFoe against No. 7 Mike Iaconelli, No. 3 Aaron Martens against No. 6 Edwin Evers and No. 4 Terry Scroggins against No. 5 Gerald Swindle. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, followed by the final on Sunday. The champion of the winner-take-all event will pocket $100,000.

WETUMPKA, Ala. – Only 11 of the 12 Bassmaster Elite Series pros qualified for the Toyota Trucks All-Star Week competition were on hand for the pre-tournament dinner at Our Place Café on Wednesday evening. Aaron Martens was busy Wednesday, winning the U.S. Open on Lake Mead, Nevada, over 1,500 miles west of here.
